Barbara J. Ferrier, a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, is a retired educator who has taught in public education and at Edinboro and Penn State Universities. Before retiring in 2001, she served in various administrative positions in the Hempfield Area School District.
In addition to her roles on the CFWC’s board and scholarship committee, Barbara is also actively involved with The Westmoreland Cultural Trust, Boy Scouts of America, CASA and Parentwise, among others. She has been recognized by a number of organizations for her dedication to the community. Barbara’s interests include the arts, ballet, youth, the promotion of Westmoreland County, and other social service issues. Barbara’s travels have taken her to countries on all seven continents which has left her with the knowledge of peoples around the world. She practices the philosophy of philanthropy instilled in her by her parents and hopes that her contributions will leave the community a better place for all to live.
