The session features Lynn C. Halpern, J.D., managing director and senior fiduciary counsel at Bessemer Trust. Lynn has 24 years experience in wealth management and estate planning and will discuss discretionary distributions from trusts along with several ethical scenarios. These will include trust provisions, trust protection in the event of behavior by beneficiaries like substance abuse and mental incapacity, and the complications associated with the creation of “quiet” trusts by grantors.
