Community Foundation of Westmoreland County Celebrates 30 Years of Community Impact and Philanthropy

GREENSBURG, PA, Nov. 7, 2025 — The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County (CFWC) will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Nov. 19, marking three decades of fostering philanthropy, partnership and community transformation. Since its establishment in 1995 with a single fund, CFWC has grown into a cornerstone of regional giving, now managing over 250 funds totaling $40 million in assets.

Record $68.8 million raised to improve communities in 2021

Pittsburgh area donors follow history of giving more in tough times
 

PITTSBURGH, April 19, 2022 – Pittsburgh Foundation donors burnished their reputation for raising the standard of generosity in challenging times, when gifts from individuals reached a record $26.2 million last year, a 29%** increase over 2020. The total raised from all sources was $68.8 million, another record.*

New community foundation leader for Westmoreland

PITTSBURGH, March 10, 2021 – McCrae Martino, whose more than 20-year career has covered critical leadership positions at a range of nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving life prospects for the region’s residents, is the new executive director of The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County (CFWC), an affiliate of The Pittsburgh Foundation.

Westmoreland County leaders launch 2020 Census complete count committee

Greensburg, Pa., Feb. 26, 2019 – A volunteer coalition of nonprofit, philanthropic, government and business leaders announced today that they have formed the Westmoreland Complete Count Committee to ensure that as many county residents as possible participate in the 2020 Census. The group’s first activity will be to recruit a larger volunteer steering committee whose members will serve as ambassadors for the census, creating awareness of its importance and encouraging their networks to participate and even to apply for jobs as census workers.
