Emergency Grants are intended for time-sensitive, unanticipated needs that, if not addressed quickly, would significantly disrupt a nonprofit’s ability to provide essential programs or services to Westmoreland County residents.
Examples may include:
Sudden loss or interruption of a primary facility.
Critical equipment failure that halts core services.
Unexpected gaps in funding that threaten continuity of high-need human services.
Urgent response to community crises such as disasters or public health emergencies where organization must rapidly expand or adapt services.
Eligible organizations should be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or public entities that are either located in Westmoreland County or can clearly demonstrate service to Westmoreland County residents. Emergency requests should be directly connected to maintaining or restoring mission-critical work rather than routine operating or planned capital needs.
The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County (CFWC) has limited funds to address emergencies and services interruptions, but organizations are encouraged to contact us to discuss the nature of the crisis, the immediate impact on services and the amount of short-term support needed to stabilize or sustain their work.
